Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 8-inch Tablet

Was about to get my 6 year old daughter the new Google Nexus 7

but was a day early at the airport for the release date so got the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 instead.

“Daddy this is the best present ever” was the response after just seeing the painting app and playing with the pen.

Its only been a few days, but it already does everything we want it for. Mine came with a handy extra 16GB micro SD card (it will take 64GB giving a massive 80GB in total).

The idea is my kids get to play with the fun stuff, birthday card creation, fruit ninja app, providing they complete some educational apps first.

More than powerful enough to handle all the apps my wife and I need too. The book reader looked clear sitting on a sunbed in 35 degree sunshine in Cyprus. We actuallynoticed other people around the pool contorting to accommodate their inferior notebooks in the sunshine.

We also caught up on missed episodes of Doctor Who’s and 24 at the end of the day propping it up on the end of the hotel bed (will probably get a case) and were very pleased with the clear screen and sound. The box says it handles Divx HD but our files were mp4   (copied over to the SD card via USB from windows machine) and the demo video is an .mkv file

My kids love it so much it’s hard to do a proper battery test, out of the box the (not fully charged) battery dropped to 30% after playing with it for about 4 hours, and I’ve seen reviews with 10+ hours so will easily keep us all happy on the flight home.
